Washington:

The Federal Aviation Administration on Tuesday prolonged the restrictions on business airways over Iraq for US flights for an additional three years citing dangers to flights.

The company is extending the prohibition towards flying under sure altitudes by October 2027 citing dangers from Iranian-aligned militia teams’ actions and third-party army operations. The restrictions additionally apply to international operators working as code share flights for US carriers. Final month, the US Transportation Division fined Air Canada $250,000 for working flights in 2022 and 2023 in prohibited Iraqi airspace.
