Hyderabad:
The Telangana authorities on Wednesday prohibited the manufacturing, storage and sale of Mayonnaise ready from uncooked eggs for one 12 months with rapid impact following complaints of it being a suspected reason for meals poisoning.
The state Commissioner of Meals Security issued an order to this impact.
“As per the observations throughout enforcement actions and complaints obtained from the general public, Mayonnaise produced from uncooked eggs is suspected to be a reason for meals poisoning in a number of incidents prior to now few months,” the order mentioned.
Mayonnaise (or Mayo) is a thick, creamy sauce made by emulsifying egg yolks with oil, typically flavoured with vinegar or lemon juice.
It’s generally used as a facet dish or dressing in sandwiches, salads, appetizers, snacks, shawarma and numerous dishes.
