Russia launched its eighth air assault in September on Kyiv in a single day, with air defence items destroying almost 20 drones that have been heading in direction of the nation’s capital, Ukrainian army stated on Monday (September 16, 2024).

“Russian assault drones have been heading to Kyiv from totally different instructions and in numerous teams,” Serhiy Popko, head of Kyiv’s army administration, stated on Telegram. In response to preliminary data, there have been no casualties or harm in Kyiv.

The dimensions of the assault, which stored Kyiv underneath air raid alerts for about 3.5 hours, will solely be identified afterward Monday (September 16, 2024), he added on the messaging app.

Reuters reported a sequence of loud explosions in what appeared like air defence programs in operation.

There was no rapid remark from Moscow. Russia says that it targets solely Ukrainian infrastructure that’s key to its warfare efforts in its air assaults.
