A staff of builders together with Associated Group is launching a $2 billion improvement on the largest marina in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, aiming to create a “mini Monaco,” in accordance with executives.
The brand new improvement on the Bahia Mar marina will embody a lodge and apartment towers, together with a seaside membership, eating places and retail house, in accordance with the plans.

Miami-based Associated Group, managed by billionaire Jorge Perez, is teaming up with Tate Capital and Rok Enterprises on the challenge. The event will span almost 40 acres of land and water, with a number of apartment towers and a St. Regis lodge with about 200 visitor rooms, in accordance with the plans. The lodge will change the prevailing DoubleTree lodge on the location.
The event caps years of failed efforts to redevelop Bahia Mar, a sprawling yacht marina that has helped make Fort Lauderdale the yacht capital of the U.S. The Bahia Mar can also be host to the Fort Lauderdale Worldwide Boat Present, the nation’s largest yacht present, which begins Wednesday.
The Bahia Mar land is owned by town of Fort Lauderdale and leased to an entity led by developer Jimmy Tate and his household. Plans by the Tates and Rok Enterprises to develop the property had been stalled for years by Fort Lauderdale residents and native officers, who opposed the big scale of the challenge. Together with the apartment towers and lodge, the plan requires 88,000 sq. toes of waterfront industrial house, with eating places, boat docking, a public park alongside the Intracoastal and a 25-foot-wide pedestrian promenade. The marina can have slips for yachts as much as 350 toes.
Perez stated since 65% of the guests to the Fort Lauderdale Worldwide Boat Present are from abroad, primarily Europe and Latin America, the event will draw from a worldwide clientele of yacht homeowners and boating fans.
