The Israeli army says it’s wanting into whether or not Hamas’ top leader Yahya Sinwar was killed in a army operation in Gaza.

The army stated in a press release on Thursday (October 17, 2024) that three militants had been killed throughout operations in Gaza, with out elaborating. It stated the identities of the three had been to date not confirmed, however it was “checking the likelihood” that one of many three was Sinwar.

Sinwar was one of many chief architects of Hamas’ assault on Israel on October 7, 2023. He was chosen because the group’s prime chief following the assassination of Ismael Haniyeh in July in an obvious Israeli strike within the Iranian capital Tehran.
