Lifeguards declared Sydney’s famed Bondi seaside and several other different strands closed Thursday, as extra mysterious black “tar ball” globules washed up alongside town’s shores. 

For days, hundreds of black spheres — starting from the scale of peas to tennis balls — have appeared on the sand, puzzling locals and vacationers alike. 

Chemical testing has recognized them as hydrocarbon-based tar balls, native officers stated. 

Tar balls can type when slicks of spilled oil are battered by wind and waves, mixing to type a sticky seawater emulsion that finally breaks into smaller items or “balls”.  

The supply remains to be unknown. 

“As a precaution, all Waverley Seashores shall be closed till additional investigation has been carried out,” a neighborhood council that features Bondi stated.
