Two girls devotees from West Bengal ready in a queue for prasad outdoors an ashram in Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura suffered severe burns after an individual serving ‘khichdi’ slipped and the recent meals fell on them, officers stated on Saturday.

Eight different girls standing within the queue additionally suffered minor accidents when the recent khichdi from the utensil splashed onto them, they stated.

All of the injured devotees have been rushed to the district hospital, from the place two in important situation have been referred to a hospital in Agra, they added.

The incident occurred on Friday on the Gauri Gopal Ashram in Mathura’s Vrindavan space, the officers stated. Chief Medical Superintendent of the district hospital Dr Vandana Agrawal stated the ladies belonged to a gaggle of devotees who had come from West Bengal on a visit to Vrindavan.

On Friday morning, when all of them reached the Gauri Gopal Ashram positioned in Parikrama Marg Sant Colony, prasad was being distributed outdoors. Because the devotees queued as much as obtain ‘khichdi’, which is made with rice and lentils, an individual carrying the utensil slipped and the recent meals splashed onto the ladies standing close by, Dr Agrawal stated.

The incident brought about panic among the many devotees and the ten injured girls have been rushed to the hospital, she added.
